My first live introduction to Justin Townes Earle was at SXSW 2010. He was one of the showcase artists at the Yard Dog Tent presented by Bloodshot Records. This is one of the best places to hang out during the music week of SX. You don't need to move far or have a wristband. See my post from 2009, "Free Beer, Free Music". For a simple person like me, it doesn't get much better than this. I don't know how JTE felt about Kent, Ohio. The temp was registering negative numbers but the crowd was really into the show. The Kent Stage is a wonderful venue that brings in many acoustic acts. It's a non-profit group with a crunchy hippy vibe. I will include links so you can find your own music. Enjoy!
